Farm Rio Cut Out Flower Dress
I randomly stumbled across this Farm Rio dress the other day when I was doing my usual doom-scrolling and haven’t stopped thinking about it since! After finally booking a summer holiday I’ve been keeping my eye out for cute day or dinner dresses and this one is definitely a contender. I love pink and red together and the flower cut out is perfect.
Borrow My Doggy
I’ve had dogs my whole life because my family have always rescued staffordshire bull terriers, so I have such a soft spot for bull breeds, but honestly I love all dogs. An english bull terrier is a dog I’ve always wanted and loved, but I’ve never really known anyone with one and sadly rarely see them around. Me and my boyfriend are super interested in getting our own so we decided to try out the app ‘Borrow My Doggy’ first to see how looking after one would fit into our lives. I immediately went hunting for the perfect EBT and found Winnie! a mini english bull terrier who lived nearby and needed regular dog sitting. So now we look after her around once a week and it’s been so great getting to spend time with a dog, go on walks, lay in the park, feed her snacks like watermelon and buy her cute toys.
The Queer Ultimatum
I did attempt to watch The Ultimatum after seeing Netflix advertise it at the end of Love Is Blind - which I literally never miss a season of! Such amazing crap TV. But I couldn’t get on board with it at all. Until recently when everyone I know IRL and online was talking about the queer version that recently aired, so I decided to dive straight in. This gets a big WTF to basically every couple and person on the show, except Mal, who I actually really loved. Every relationship seemed insanely problematic, and the way they are willing to drop their partners so quickly for something new and exciting is absolutely wild to me. No spoilers here - but go watch ASAP.
HPV / Colposcopies
I’ve discussed this a lot on my personal Instagram so apologies for the repeated news but…. just over a week ago I had to go for a colposcopy and a biopsy of my cervix, because my smear test result came back positive for high risk HPV and abnormal cells. I only just turned 25 so received my letter from the doctor about booking my first smear a few months ago, I immediately booked in as I just wanted to get it over with and didn’t even think there was a chance my results wouldn’t just be clear. However a few weeks later I received a letter in the post with the dreaded news, and a big scary booklet listing every possible outcome from best to worst case scenario. Even though it stated that whatever stage the cells are at they can be removed, it’s still such daunting and terrifying news. I knew us girlies had our HPV vaccine at school but you’re like 14 and have no idea what that even means?! Turns out it’s the most common STI in the world and almost everyone catches it at some point in their lives, it only becomes a problem when the abnormal cells grow because of it. So basically I had to go get a piece of my cervix removed to be inspected to see what the next steps are. As I laid there with my feet in stirrups, with my tiny paper blanket on and a giant needle being injected inside me, I just thought about all the shit people with vaginas/womb’s/cervix’s etc have to go through. It’s so rough!! I honestly admire anyone else who is dealing with this crap so much because it seriously sucks, so this gets a bad WTF from me this month. Gentle reminder to everyone to book your smear - it could save your life! x
And Just Like That….
I would go as far to say I love Sex and The City more than any other show, as you can probably tell by the amount I write about it. Season 2 of the spin-off nobody asked for, ‘And Just Like That…’ launched last week, perfectly in time for post-colposcopy me to veg out on the sofa and binge watch it. It saddens me to say that season one was really hard to watch, it was cringe, clearly trying way too hard to be ‘woke’ and the only redeeming factors were the clothes. Three episodes into the new season and it’s looking like we’re going to have another painful watch, even with the news of a small Samantha cameo. Samantha is the gem that AJLT is really missing, along with the original costume designer Patricia field, I don’t think we realised how integral they were to bringing the whole show together. I will definitely keep persevering but at this point I’m only watching because the die hard SATC fan inside of me feels like its my duty.
My Current Go-to Lunch @ Home
When I spend my day off lounging around at home, whether I’m cleaning or writing WTF, I love to make myself a nice little lunch. However I don’t usually pre-plan this and then can’t be bothered to leave the house, meaning I have to make do with whatever we have in. This is how my current favourite lunch was discovered! All you need is whatever breaded vegan or normal chicken you have in the freezer, a nugget will suffice, then chuck it in a wrap with salad, jalapeños, mayo and hot sauce. Paired with some crisps on the side - cafe style - and if you like spice I promise you’ll be obsessed.
Stripy Shirts with Sporty Shorts
This easy and comfy combo is my favourite outfit recipe for summer, any oversized striped shirt will work, balanced out with a little sporty short - it’s the perfect contrast! I’d wear this with trainers, sandals or even heels in the evening. The shorts above are by Museum of Peace and Quiet, you can pick them up here, and my shirt was on a £3 rack outside a vintage shop!

Leo is one of my favourite feel good Tik Toker’s that never fail to make me laugh out loud, I highly recommend taking a scroll through his feed if you need a giggle this evening! I honestly find his self-confidence infectious and motivating, you’ll walk away from his videos caring way less what people think of you.
My Scared Of the Dark / Sleeping Alone Hack
I’ve been scared of the dark and sleeping in the house on my own for as long as I can remember. I think just as I started to get over the fear, it only got worse when my uni house in second year was broken into while I was asleep upstairs. Ever since then I’ve hated whenever a housemate or boyfriend would go away because I always anticipated the worst. The first few times my boyfriend went away since we’ve lived in our current flat, I couldn’t sleep for hours and I would count down the days until he got home. Since we got our XL Smiley Lamp this has completely changed everything! We added it to our Google home which means you can set a timer on your phone or with your voice for however many hours you want to keep it on for. I usually set it to the dimmest light and set my timer for a couple of hours just to ease me into a deep sleep, and next thing I know it’s the morning! I know a couple of you have spoken to me about this fear so I wanted to share this little hack that’s really been working for me. I know this lamp is kinda spenny but you could definitely do the same with any other plug in LED.
The Idol
I think we’re all saying WTF to The Idol, and mostly not in a good way. My personal thoughts on the new show by Euphoria creator Sam Levinson are all over the place. I absolutely love some of the cast - Lily Rose Depp, Troye Sivan, Jennie Kim and Rachel Sennott are absolutely killing it. I also really enjoy the way it’s shot and I think the costume is perfect. All of Lily’s outfit’s are super cute and she undeniably can pull off any look.
This doesn’t change the fact it is extremely uncomfortable to watch, the sex scenes made me physically recoil on the sofa and shut my eyes because I was cringing so bad, which doesn’t happen even with the most gruesome horror films. *That* scene on the bed was honestly unforgivable. The Weeknd’s character Tedros is possibly the most vile man I’ve seen on a show in a long time, but I think that’s the point? If so, they are executing it very well. The whole storyline is obviously disturbing, uncomfortable and extravagant, which does make you wonder if this is the reality of Hollywood and being exploited as a young celebrity. They recently announced they’ve cut the final episode which means the finale will be aired this Monday, but everything feels so unfinished and rushed, I’m intrigued to see how they could possibly round up all the loose ends and answer all the questions in just one more episode.
