Welcome to 10 Things I Said WTF to, my end of month round-up newsletter of 10 things I’ve said WTF to over the past four weeks. Ranging from good to bad, to absolute nonsense °˖✧˚ʚ♡ɞ˚✧˖°
I want to preface this newsletter by saying that I have been to America before, but it was 10+ years ago (I think I was 10 + 11?), and I only went to Disney World and Miami so I don’t remember much!! Soaking it all in as an adult was very different, so here’s 10 things from my trip to LA & Vegas that made me say WTF!
The Gaps under Toilet Doors
I’ve seen so many rage TikTok’s about how ridiculously big the gaps are underneath and around the sides of cubicle doors, but after the flight from hell it had totally slipped my mind. I practically ran from baggage claim to go pee and honestly laughed out loud to myself after being greeted by the above. Trying to change my period cup while basically being stared down by a middle aged lady through the crack isn’t something I think I could ever get used to.
Cyber Trucks
The amount of Cyber Trucks in LA is actually wild!!! I thought people were joking when they said how common they are but honestly - they’re everywhere. After googling the price (obviously) and seeing the minimum is $60k - I’m even more confused at their popularity. Who wants to spend that much to drive what essentially looks like a walk-in fridge????
Koreatown Plaza

I originally heard about Koreatown Plaza through this TikTok and almost didn’t manage to go, but I’m so glad we did because it was one of my favourite days of the whole trip. We went on a weekday so it was pretty quiet, but I did feel sad at how many of the shops were vacant because the Plaza itself is so nice. Besides the amazing food court (I’ll get to that in a second) the shops that were open had some of the best magazines, trinkets and merch I’ve ever found IRL!! It was like trinket heaven, they had so much Sanrio, Snoopy, Miffy and endless BTS/BT21 merch. I came away with an amazing Korean Vogue, a Miffy keychain, a transparent bag keychain to keep my Sonny Angels in and a few pieces from The Crème Shop x Hello Kitty collaboration.
After we shopped we headed down to the Food Court which felt like stepping into an 80’s movie, every individual vendor had their own neon sign hanging above their station, chrome chairs filled the room and all the trays and cutlery were such perfect shades of blue and pink. We ended up going for cold spicy noodles, egg rolls, seaweed salad and two different types of lemonade. Everything was incredible and I loved how quiet it was compared to everywhere else in LA, it was mostly just groups of older women catching up with their girlfriends.
