Usually every six months or so I write some sort of seasonal trend report, shopping list or montage of styling tips - but not this year. I’ve never felt less like I want to be “trendy” - all I really want is to just feel good in my clothes. I’m still embracing trends as they come, but only letting them reside in my wardrobe if I know they’ll be timeless. Considering the above, I really didn’t want to come on here and convince you to buy things you don’t need by glamorising micro-trends for this spring/summer (that we’ll inevitably all be sick of by July). Instead, I’ve been racking my brain thinking about everything I want to wear in the upcoming months, and theres two styling ideas that I’ve been saving to my Pinterest board over and over again. Funnily enough, they couldn’t be more different…
layers
wearing as little as possible
I know they totally contradict each other, but bare with me! Let’s start with layers.
Layering has admittedly never been my strong point, I’ve slightly improved year by year but most days I just chuck a thermal under a heavy knit and run out the door. Yet, I always feel envious seeing all the fashion girlies I follow sharing their cute outfits with better layering than you see on a runway. Michelle Li has always been one of my favourite people to follow for inspiration and her layering is often particularly good.
