A quick starting note from me to say that all money generated from paid subscriptions for the next month will be donated to Medical Aid For Palestinians 🇵🇸 Whether that’s existing subscriptions, or any subscriptions upgraded from free to paid within that time frame - whether its the monthly £3.50 or annual £35. You can upgrade your subscription by clicking the button on the paywall below (just scroll down a little, under the second paragraph) 🇵🇸

Last Wednesday I dug out my cowboy boots and headed to London to see Ethel Cain at the Roundhouse. I knew weeks before that I’d be wearing them, and my mind drifted between whether they’d be best paired with my 1920’s white cotton nightie or the silk slip skirt with lace trim that I got for £6 on Vinted. These pieces, along with my real tree camo trucker cap and brown vintage leather jacket, were the only items that popped into my head when I considered what I’d be wearing that night…even though I have a wardrobe literally bursting with colourful clothes spanning every single possible ‘aesthetic’. I didn’t think too much into my outfit choice (I went with the slip skirt) until I got to the back of the queue that stretched for miles and miles through Camden, and noticed everyone was wearing variations of the same outfit.

White prairie dresses, biker boots and camouflage everything filled the streets, it truly looked as if a southern-coquette girl cult had taken over - also big shout out to the two girls in nun costumes, you made my night! It was clear that whether it was wholly conscious or subconscious, we had all put our outfits together based on the aesthetic that is Ethel Cain.

(A collection of images that all pop up when you search ‘Ethel Cain Aesthetic’ on Pinterest. Basically a combination of southern gothic, country, religon and coquette)
