I went through a strange period recently where my TikTok FYP was just endless brain-rot (aka ballerina cappuccina) and all the cute fashion girlies I follow weirdly just vanished. Before this I was constantly saving videos to my ‘clothes’ folder, then suddenly I noticed it hadn’t been updated in well over a month! So I’m obviously blaming my recent lack of wardrobe inspiration on this, when realistically it’s most likely my raging PMS and the extremely unpredictable british weather.

I really do think TikTok is a way better source of outfit and styling inspiration than Instagram because it feels so much easier to stumble across new creators, where as the Instagram algorithm feels very localised. Plus, the content just doesn’t feel as natural or authentic? I’d way rather see a quick 10 second video of someone sharing their actual ootd from their bedroom than a highly curated and edited shoot. It’s much more inspiring to see clothes that are truly wearable in day-to-day life! Luckily my feed has now returned to normal so I’ve been saving more than ever and taking note of some real good styling hacks for summer.

Truly obsessed with the way these oversized flower corsages are making their way into everyday outfits, considering we’re used to exclusively seeing them at weddings. It feels very SATC/Carrie Bradshaw inspired and I love it! Such a simple and fun way to dress up a plain t-shirt or vest top for a night out and most of the ones available online also double up as a hair-clip, so it’s technically a 2-4-1 investment.

Ribbon rosettes to me feel like the more put-together twin sister of flower corsages (an accessory embodiment of Roxy and Jane in New York Minute if you will) and I also can’t get enough of them! They’ve featured in a few previous newsletters after Clairo wore a Sandy Liang one on her charm tour, but I feel like the “trend” is only just getting started. I hate to describe it as a trend because I’m feeling very anti-trend at the moment, but it’s difficult to know how else to describe something rapidly gaining popularity?

This gal that I follow always has the cutest ones and she also sells them so if you’re in the market for one then be sure to send her a message!

Sticking with the theme of fun accessories, I love everything about this. I’ve been totally influenced and have since developed an obsession with these tinsel mules (by Maguire). The dress is obviously gorgeous and such a classic shape, and that final pink beaded bag (by Shrimps) is absolute perfection. The pink, white and brown just work so nicely together and I feel inspired to try style a little neapolitan vibe for myself.

inspiration is everywhere

Someone who never seems to have a bad outfit is the founder of Australian womenswear brand Mode Mischeif - Mia Zotos. I really love these montages that she does because I get soooo much inspo from them and they always push me to reach for something other than my joggers (I’m a creature of habit).

I also can’t recommend browsing Mode Mischief enough. I only discovered them recently but their pieces are too good and all designed/mostly produced in Melbourne. They also send your orders out in dissolvable, recyclable or reusable packing which is just a little touch that always makes me love a brand even more!

Adore these cutie ruffled capris! (Gigi Capris by Mode Mischeif in Tide Stripe)
