Chopova Lowena x Sanrio

Back at the beginning of the month, Chopova Lowena released a Nordstrom exclusive collaboration with Sanrio. It’s probably best I can’t justify the wild US import fee’s because I honestly can’t think of a more perfect collaboration!! Chopova Lowena have very quickly become one of my favourite brands, to the point where I dream of owning a carabiner skirt almost daily. So when I saw this pop up on my phone, I practically shot out of my seat in excitement, even though if I did cave and try to purchase anything my bank account would probably close itself from the stress.
Longlegs
As a Horror/Thriller lover, I couldn’t wait to go and see Longlegs, and it didn’t disappoint. It’s almost impossible to avoid spoilers for films and TV these days because everything ends up on TikTok within 24 hours of it’s release, but I somehow managed to not see anything before I watched it at the cinema. I also turned the trailer off after about ten seconds because I wanted to be as surprised as possible, which I definitely was during that opening scene that almost made me choke on my smarties.
I know reviews have been controversial but personally I loved it, it was so refreshing to see a horror film with a more unique storyline than the ones we’re so used to (family move into haunted house, child is possessed etc). I mean it definitely wasn’t what I was expecting, and I do think some areas could’ve been expanded on a bit more…like the whole logistics of how it actually works? Apologies for my vague-ness, trying to avoid spoiling it for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet. Overall, it was creepy and jumpy and uncomfortable and I throughly enjoyed it.
Amelia Dimoldenberg’s Voting Outfit
Bold statement, but this could be the perfect outfit recipe? A cardigan paired with good jeans and loafers never fails. When this post popped up on my feed it inspired me so much that I recreated the outfit the very next day. Also please can someone tell me what these jeans are??? The fit is perfect!
The Kooples x Amelia Gray
I haven’t seen news about this collaboration anywhere except the one TikTok I took this terrible screenshot from but I need to know when its coming out!!! Truly obsessed with everything about this bag - the pockets, the studs, the bows, the brown leather. I’m turning a blind eye to the fact it looks extremely similar to the Acne Studios bag that was so popular this year, because I feel this may be slightly more affordable…
Sydney Carlson’s Cookware Company
Sydney Carlson of Wildflower Cases recently teased the launch of her very own cookware company, Lynnee. If you’ve followed Sydney for a while you will have noticed that her cooking/recipe videos have truly taken over the majority of her content, so it makes sense that this would be her next business venture. The only product shown so far is this hot pink pan and spatula set, which is very very cute. If anything’s going to get me into the kitchen - it’s this! I’m wondering how it’ll compare to everyones favourite aesthetic pan by Our Place.
Imposter Syndrome
I keep a note in my phone where I jot down things across the month that could potentially make their way into this newsletter, and imposter syndrome was a recurring theme throughout the past few weeks. Then obviously today, as I’m actually sitting down to write this, I’m experiencing possibly the worst case of it ever. When working for yourself or starting up a new project it can be SO hard sometimes to stay positive about what you’re doing, especially when you’ve built it from scratch and are a one person team across all fields. You just have those days where you think everything you do is rubbish and wonder why people even like it or engage with it, which I’ve been having a lot of recently (soz for getting deep and breaking the fourth wall).
Since I started WTF I’ve longed for a tiny little office/studio space where I can sit down to write or make content and properly focus. Working from home was basically impossible as my flat is too small and I’m super easily distracted, so when I moved into the new WTF HQ I was so so excited and felt very grown up. But then some days I come into the studio and get set up at my desk and feel like my brand is too small to even warrant having this space? And I feel like I’m kidding myself and that it wont grow any further. Don’t get me wrong - other days I come in and it’s the best thing ever and I feel so proud and happy with everything that WTF is doing, I just wanted to share how I’ve been feeling because I know I can’t be the only one! ♥
Nara Smith 4 Marc Jacobs

This recent Nara Smith for Marc Jacobs ad proves she knows exactly what she’s doing with her content. Her iconic “making things from scratch” videos consistently go viral for how intricate and time consuming the recipes are, and also because she’s usually cooking them in couture. If you create any sort of content yourself then you know Nara Smith cannot be doing all this work solo, and clearly has a behind the scenes production team helping her out. Nobody’s house would be that spotless with three kids running around while so much high quality content being produced. However, a lot of people truly believe that she’s in there on her own, that she’s somehow a wonder-woman perfect trad-wife hybrid that can do it all. Which is exactly how she amounts such insanely high views and comments, due to people constantly questioning everything she does. I’ll admit it, I wasn’t originally interested in her videos at all, but this ad is the perfect self-aware spoof of her usual content and I’m into it.
Lori Hirshleifer
I recently discovered Lori Hirshleifer, the owner and buyer of Hirshleifer’s department store in Long Island, and I am absolutely obsessed with her style. Obviously if you own a store that stocks every luxury brand under the sun, then you’re bound to have an incredible wardrobe. But I just love the chaotic way she pieces everything together and how maximalist her outfits are. She’s quickly become my new favourite person to follow on Instagram - mainly just because I love drooling over the pictures of her giant green walk-in wardrobe.
Outift Re-Eating
I recently heard the term “outfit re-eating” and it’s been stuck in my head ever since. Outfit repeating, for some weird reason, is usually seen as uncool?? - so I love that outfit re-eating spins that on it’s head. Your outfit was simply so good, it had to be worn over and over again. As it should!!
This Substack by Emily North (Angel Cake)
As I was finishing off this newsletter I got notified about the above Substack by Emily North of Angel Cake. As a girlie who sometimes (often) loves to hate things, it truly spoke to me. I honestly feel like I could write for hours about things I hate, and I know it’s not good to be negative but sometimes it can’t be helped!! I strongly urge you go and read it because it’s one of the most relatable and funny things I’ve come across in weeks. In solidarity, I’d like to finish off this month’s 10 things with 10 things I hate…
dome lids for iced coffee
when you’re wearing a vest top in summer and men un-subtly stare at your boobs as you walk
kids screaming in supermarkets, restaurants or any other contained public spaces (sorry)
when you cook things in the oven according to the instructions and you go to take it out and it’s basically still raw
underwear that gets stuck in your butt crack
when you squirt ketchup and the dreaded ketchup water comes out (gag)
when you say someones dog is cute and they don’t care
people who try get on public transport before letting people get off
flat beer
people who don’t care about how bad shein / aliexpress / temu is for the environment
thank you for reading / including me 💘💘
the ketchup one literally send shivers down my spine
